The following bio is lifted from the website www.acousticnicki.com.

Nicki Sbaffoni joined her first band, Bad Plaid, while pursuing a communications degree at Slippery Rock U, in North West Pennsylvania. Although the band played 80's cover tunes exclusively and was relatively short-lived, the experience provided a springboard for creativity and motivation. Shortly after this initial experience, Nicki started writing songs, initially on piano, now, mostly on guitar. Later, she spent half a year in Edinburgh, Scotland performing with a songwriting troupe and also playing sell out solo shows in a variety of pub and university settings. With the "Edinburgh Songwriters", Nicki recorded two original songs for inclusion on the "Gallery" compilation release, as well as singing backup on additional tracks. Several years later, Nicki returned to Scotland to perform at the Edinburgh International Festival, garnering new fans and rave reviews. . .

In the mid to late '90's, Nicki spent much time honing the craft while performing with several original bands in the Pittsburgh area, most notably, the acoustic trio outdamspot. During this time, Nicki also co-hosted the Calliope Songwriters Open Mic at Bloomfield Bridge Tavern and collaborated with many Pittsburgh songwriters. While the full band experience was rewarding on many levels, it didn't take long for Nicki to seek a more personally fulfilling route. . .

Fast forward a few years (cough cough)  and we find Nicki in the South Jersey / Philadelphia area as a confident solo act, blessed with new audiences, and new opportunities daily. Nominated for "Best Acoustic Act" in the 2004 Philly Music Awards, she's performs regularly in bars, restaurants, and cafés all over the tri-state area, with occasional returns to the Pittsburgh area.
